Wasn't much of a holiday on Labor day for my Poor Dear Husband. We got home from meeting on Sunday evening and he got a call from the college. The Fulmer Hall electrical was down. It's important for that building to have electricty running all the time. Tom got a quick bite to eat and out the door he went. This was at about 6:00 p.m. He didn't get home until 2:00 a.m. and they still hadn't gotten the power going. So he got about 4 hours of sleep and headed back to work on it some more. He spent ALL of his Labor Day 'holiday' at the college, working on a motor that broke down - which was the cause of the electrical failure. He didn't get home until 9:30 p.m. last night. Poor guy, he walked in the door with his greasy-grimy clothes and just wanted to go to bed. I felt so sorry for him. Then he was up at 4:30 to go back to a regular work week. We really missed him.
The rest of us had a pretty quiet day. Preston spent a lot of the day doing homework. He has a semester project he's working on for his Geology class. He will be doing a report on the geological significance of Kamiak Butte. Yesterday he had to find five articles to use as references. There aren't very many articles (magazine, newspaper) on the geological significance of that Butte. So he spent a long time yesterday trying to find something. Then he had a boat-load of Math to finish. Keaton spent 2 hours on his Chemistry homework. That's pretty good for Keaton! Winston and I had a pretty good Labor Day. I read my bookclub book and he played outside all day with the dogs and chickens. Now the kids are back to school and I have a week filled with sub work. Here's to jumping in with both feet!
