Just some updates on June... it feels like we've hardly been home. This house sometimes feels like a busy beehive. People coming and going at all hours. Since the Oldsmobile quit on Keaton a couple of weeks ago, both of the boys now have their own cars. I think the freedom of that has been good for them - and for us, despite our driveway looking like a used car lot.
Preston finished his final field camp and has begun work at the college for housing again this summer. It's mostly painting, but he enjoys doing it while listening to books on his phone. Keaton is working two jobs this summer - one for the cub doing graphic design projects like menus, window decals, etc. He is also still working for the Foundation in the IT position. He's a busy boy. Rachel is working at the vet clinic and comes home with all kinds of stories to share - and once with an overnight pet. Winston has been traveling with me, and enjoying summertime activities. He will start summer school soon. One more thing to keep the door revolving.
We got to enjoy the annual Chick reunion a little over a week ago. This year it was at Banbury Hot Springs in 'low' Idaho. I posted pictures on facebook, so I won't duplicate them here. It was a great time! Although we missed having Levi & Kadie, and Alma with us this year. We spent much of the time swimming, eating and playing cards. Lier's poker was a favorite this year. There was also the annual egg-hunt. Some of the eggs had paper tickets in them that the kids redeemed to their Grandma for prizes. The kids really enjoyed that.
Then Rachel and her little chickies, and Winston & I, spent an additional three days at Mom and Dad's house. It was nice to get some more visit time in. On one of the days we drove into Boise and took the kids to Settler's Park, where there is a free water feature the kids could play in. Afterwards we went to find a 7-11 to get some slushies. There are no 7-11's in Boise. We ended up at a Jackson's Mart, which had a good selection of flavors in slushies. The 'Tiger's blood' was particularly good! (It's coconut and strawberry-YUM!)
Now it's back home, and getting ready for the 4th of July. Mom and Dad Chick and Nels &Rachel are coming over. I think Kendall is going to be here after the 4th. It will be great to have them all here.
Here are some pictures from our time at Mom and Dad's...
I love south-Idaho sunsets!
Fire in the sky!
