Chickmas Part II ~ Chickies having fun...

Every year Grandma Chick plans a plastic egg-hunt for her grandchildren. With such a large family, spread out across three states - and two countries, it's hard for all of us to get together for holidays. Chickmas is Mom and Dad's brainchild. They planned for us to gather at the same time every year, during the summer for easier travel, when it can be scheduled in a year in advance. This is our family holiday - and Mom loves to celebrate her holiday with her grandchildren!
Tyra has a sly foxy little look as she slips an egg into her bag. Mom (Grandma Chick) fills the eggs with lots of little toys (plastic bugs, little animals, tiny green army men, etc...), money and lots of chocolate! (Which melted nicely on the black-top of the trampoline this year!)

Grandma Chick, Jill, Erik and Great-Grandma Chick watch the hunt from the front porch. It seems like there were over a hundred eggs hiding all over the place in the front yard. The kids put on quite a show for the whole family.

Little Miss Ali finds a green egg. With our Dr. Suess theme for the reunion this year ('Oh, The Places You'll Go') We just need some Green Ham to go with that Egg!

Grandpa Larson, Tom and Keaton watch the proceedings from the sidelines. Tom captures some of the show for later viewing. If I remember right, at one point Keaton videos himself chasing Preston around the yard after Preston successfully steals his shoe - this is only after Keaton has been pestering him. (I forget about what). I need to watch the footage of that!

Here's little Cade... reaching... reaching... almost got it. That bag's almost as big as he is! I think he was having just as much fun playing with the eggs already in the bag as finding any more in the grass.

Kylo! He found an egg! It was hilarious watching him try to pick the egg up in his mouth. My sister and brother both got video of it and I laugh every time I watch it. It's side-splitting stuff. He waggs his tail and snorts and slobbers just a little bit, trying to pick that egg up - but it just keep rolling and rolling and won't cooperate with him. Sooooo Funny!

Yes, even the big kids got in on the fun. Keaton just couldn't contain himself. He knew there was chocolate to be had in those eggs and just had to have it. He's such a candy/cookie monster. If there's sugar anywhere in the vicinity, he will find it. You go, Keaton! Get that sugar high! Just go bug your Dad instead of me while you're on it.

Emily found the last egg, with a little help from her Dad, Erik. She was pretty excited! The kids all horded their goodies - and eggs. Who knew that little colored plastic eggs would be so valuable in the kid market?

Winston inspects his loot. What's next? We've had the fun... Now it's time for the games! You better check back soon!
