Thanksgiving '11

We got to have Nels & Rachel and their family with us for Thanksgiving this year.  It was so much fun watching the girls and Winston running around and having a good time.  We also enjoyed getting to see more of baby Clara.  In fact, we were having so much fun we forgot to take very many pictures.  Here's what we've got...
This is what we do on a holiday:
play Catan and stuff our faces!

We had the traditional turkey dinner.  Tom thought we needed to have ham, too, so we had ham AND turkey.  The funny thing about the turkey was that while it was cooking in my roaster, the leg started popping up and pushing the lid up.  It looked so funny, I wish I'd taken a picture of it.  Finally it just wouldn't stay down so I had to cut the darn thing off!  We all had a good laugh and there were lots of jokes going around about that turkey leg.

A very pretty Violet.

Violet was quite the entertainment.  She wanted to play Catan too.  Nels kept trying to divert her attention elsewhere.  Then as we were finishing up Thanksgiving dinner, she decided to come back for seconds... by sampling each food out of the serving bowls and plates.  It was really cute - although Rachel was trying her best to keep her from doing it.  She especially enjoyed the jello.

The girls:  Violet, Hazel, Elsie and Lilie.
Rachel and Nels with Clara in the back - but their heads are cut off.

Hazel, Lilie, Elsie and Winston created their own division of the FBI.  They donned black garbage bag suits and made paper badges with "FBI" on them.  They were investigating everything from the barn to the house.  Winston was especially stylish with his "FBI" tag written on a paper plate, taped to his bum!  We got a good laugh out of that one.

It was a great Thanksgiving!
Thank you Nels and Rachel, for spending it with us!
